HR Advice and dispute resolution

On-call advice and guidance when you need it. We encourage our clients to seek advice early to avoid running into employment problems – however if problems do arise we support you through the process to reach a resolution.

We offer consulting services to support employers to manage any employment issue. Common examples include:

  • Disciplinary procedures.
  • Change management procedures, technical restructures and redundancy.
  • Performance improvement procedures / how to address poor performance.
  • Absenteeism and sick leave.
  • Personal grievances and employee complaints.

We generally provide these services on an hourly rate consulting basis. We can run the whole process for you, support you with advice and guidance behind the scenes, or provide any level of service in between, depending on your preferences.

In the event that the issue is disputed by the employee, we will advocate for you in mediation and the Employment Relations Authority if required (most cases do not go this far).

If you already have an employment dispute on your hands and need advice on how to respond to it, we will be happy to support or advocate for you. Whilst we do encourage employers to seek advice early to help them achieve the best outcome, we are happy to be engaged at any stage of the process.

We also offer an ongoing support package – HR Adviceline.

HR Adviceline allows you to have expert advice on hand, when you need it. It is ideal if you have a small or medium size business and you want ‘do it yourself’ HR with the helping hand of expert guidance when you need it.

Having a short conversation to seek advice before dealing with an employment issue can save you substantial time, money and stress. We can help you make better decisions for your business. Adviceline includes up to 6 enquiries per quarter on any employment matter, for only $155 + GST per quarter. You can also add additional enquiries or services should you need them. For example, if after making an Adviceline query you decide to run a disciplinary process, we can support you with this at our standard hourly rate. Alternatively, you can do it yourself if you are confident to do so following your Adviceline query.

Adviceline provides clear advice about the risks and benefits of options you may wish to consider when managing HR situations. We understand how to apply the legal framework and provide strategies and approaches to help you achieve the outcome you need.

The Adviceline package is designed for employers with up to 20 employees. Talk to us if you have a larger workforce and foresee needing more frequent advice.
